Nashville Comes Home Live and Positively Arts Turn Live Music Into Opportunity for Southern Nevada Youth

Nashville Comes Home Live is using the power of live music to create opportunities for young artists through its partnership with Las Vegas nonprofit Positively Arts.

HENDERSON, NEVADA — Live Music With a Mission Beyond the Stage

For Nashville Comes Home Live, bringing Nashville songwriters to Southern Nevada is only part of the mission.

The Henderson-based live music experience has named Positively Arts as its official nonprofit partner, creating a connection between professional working musicians and the next generation of Southern Nevada artists.

Through the partnership, Nashville Comes Home Live isn’t simply presenting music.

It’s helping young people discover what may be possible when their own talent, confidence and creativity are given an opportunity to grow.

Connecting Young Artists With Working Music Professionals

Nashville Comes Home Live brings professional singers and songwriters into an intimate listening-room environment where audiences hear original music and the stories behind the songs.

Through its partnership with Positively Arts, that access can extend beyond the evening’s performance.

The partnership is designed to provide young artists with exposure to educational masterclasses, artist mentorship and working Nashville music industry professionals.

For an aspiring singer, songwriter or performer, those experiences can provide something that can’t always be learned from a textbook.

Perspective.

What is it really like to write professionally?

How does an artist develop a song?

What happens when creativity becomes a career?

What do professional musicians learn after years of writing, recording and performing?

Those conversations can help young artists begin to see a path between the talent they have today and the opportunities they could pursue tomorrow.

About Positively Arts

Founded in 2014 by Pilita Simpson, Positively Arts is a Las Vegas-based nonprofit organization focused on empowering children through the arts.

Its mission extends beyond teaching performance skills.

The organization uses arts education alongside social-emotional development to help young people strengthen confidence, resilience, leadership and self-worth.

Through classes, mentorship, masterclasses and professional performance opportunities, Positively Arts reports having impacted more than 10,000 students throughout Southern Nevada and awarded more than $200,000 in scholarships.

Those scholarships help make arts education accessible to children who might otherwise be unable to participate because of financial limitations.

When Music Creates More Music

The partnership creates a natural connection between the two organizations.

Nashville Comes Home Live celebrates the songwriter.

Positively Arts develops the next generation of creative voices.

One puts accomplished working artists on stage.

The other helps young performers imagine themselves standing on one.

Together, they create an opportunity for an evening of live music to have an impact that continues well after the final song.

Guests Can Support Positively Arts When Purchasing Tickets

Guests purchasing Nashville Comes Home Live tickets can also choose to support Positively Arts through an optional donation.

A $10 donation add-on is available during ticket checkout, with 100% of the donation going directly to Positively Arts.

Additional donation opportunities are available for supporters who may not be able to attend Nashville Comes Home Live but still want to contribute to the nonprofit’s mission.

Those contributions help support scholarships, mentorship programs and creative experiences for Southern Nevada students.

Music Is More Powerful When It Creates Opportunity

There is something especially fitting about songwriters helping future artists.

Every professional musician started somewhere.

Before there was a stage, there was usually a first lesson.

A first song.

A first teacher.

A first person who said, “Keep going.”

Partnerships like the one between Nashville Comes Home Live and Positively Arts can create more of those moments.

A student may attend a masterclass and hear the piece of advice they needed.

A young songwriter may meet a professional artist and realize that songwriting can become more than a hobby.

Another child may receive a scholarship that allows them to continue performing when their family otherwise couldn’t afford the opportunity.

Those individual moments are where the long-term impact of the partnership lives.

Nashville Comes Home Live Returns September 24–25
